What is it? How do I join in? Don’t worry, we’re here to tell you the ins and outs of Twitter’s new brand bracket.
Engaging with your audience through social is very important for brands, letting your customers know you’re listening and care for their opinion. A brand’s social media can be full of positive replies and comments. Although, sometimes a risky approach can be taken to cause controversy and critical attention that may hopefully shove your brand into the spotlight. Twitter is a well-established territory for big brands and a viral tweet can go a long way in sharing your brand across the globe.
Twitter is looking to find out which brand holds the crown of having the best brand account, in terms of tweets. In their own words:
“We know the conversational nature of Twitter makes it a place where brands can be their most human-sounding selves. Brands can have two-way conversations with their audience that are real and unfiltered and can’t be replicated anywhere else. With this bracket, we aim to celebrate those that do this the best – as selected by the people of Twitter.”Twitter
They have named this ‘#bestoftweets’; selecting 16 brands from all different pockets of the business world and placing them in their respective groups in a round of 16 type tournament.
The groups and brands within them are as follows:
- Pizza Hut
- Bud Light
- Mr. Peanut
People’s Choice Group:
- Uber eats
Each round will be decided by you, the people through a vote on Twitter Marketing’s page in a poll style decision.
These head to head clashes will commence, round by round, until the winner of #BestOfTweets is announced on April 2nd and we will find out who really is the best brand on the platform.
These campaigns are a good way to generate discussion. Brands could easily use this campaign for inspiration, for example pitting their own products, recipes, outfits and plenty more against each other as a good way of gaining an insight into their customer’s thoughts and preferences.
