2017 was the year of the influencer, with brands spending big bucks to secure some A-list names to promote their products. Below are the top celebrity advocates of the year based on a number of endorsements. (Stats compiled by Celebrity Intelligence.)
The Younger sister of Gigi Hadid, and former girlfriend of The Weeknd (let’s just take a minute to remember the shade she threw at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show)– Bella, with her 16.5m Instagram followers. Bella tops the list with a massive 14 big brand endorsements including; Christian Dior, Chanel, Versace and Fendi to name a few.
Despite that dodgy Pepsi commercial that we all tried to forget, Kendall makes it to the number 2 spot with less controversial endorsements for the likes of Adidas, Alexander Wang, Daniel Wellington and Topshop.
Just beaten to the top spot by her older sister, Gigi – who you may know as the other half of former 1D star Zayne Malik, takes third position. In 2017 she worked with brand such as Dsquared2, Vogue Eyewear, Victoria’s Secret and Maybelline New York – maybe she’s born with it (couldn’t resist)!
The highest male to make the list, British Olympic Diver Tom Daley, dives into 4th place. Working with brands such as Lynx, Spotify and Sainsbury’s, and with his millions of followers it’s safe to say Tom made a splash in 2017.
Kim Kardashian West
Here she is, did you seriously think there would be a list from 2017 that Kim didn’t make? A few spots down from younger sister Kendall, Kim, despite her ‘Ugly Cry Face’ is at no.5 with endorsements for her own brands Kids Supply, and make up line, as well as lending a hand to fellow Kardashian, Kylie for her cosmetic collection.
Kim’s best friend, Jasmine Saunders, comes in a one place below her BFF at no.6. Securing a whole raft of fashion campaigns for UGG Australia, Reebok and Gap.
Taylor, with her legs for days, strutted through 2017 and came in at no.7; Continuing her longstanding partnership with Victoria’s Secret and new campaigns with L’Oreal, Versace and Michael Kors.
Another (former) Victoria’s Secret Angel makes the top 10 – Karlie Kloss, model, entrepreneur and part of Tay-Swift’s girl squad (see Bad Blood video) comes in at number 8 for her tech endorsements for WIX.com and Passion for coding. As well as fashion partners Adidas and Cole Haan.
Hello, is it me your looking for? Youngest daughter of pop-legend Lionel Ritchie, Sofia had brands queuing up All Night Long to partner with her. With the likes of Adidas, HERA and Nip+Fab all getting in on the action, she must have been Dancing On The Ceiling. Okay we’ll stop
Demi Rose Mawby
Last but by no means least is British model Demi Rose Mawby. Rumoured to have dated Kylie Jenner’s ex Tyga (who hasn’t?) Demi is the perfect example of the new breed of Instagram Influencers. Her Insta-fame has helped her secure deals with Missguided and PrettyLittleThing amongst others.
